Camp is right around the corner!

May 29, 2019

We are just two days away from the first residential camp of summer 2019! Summer staff have been busy training since last week and are excited for campers to arrive. Counselors are finishing up over 24 hours of training and finalizing camp plans. Months of hard work is about to pay off.

A summer at Canter's Cave sees hundreds of youth and adults. Each getting the chance to have an experience that lasts a lifetime. Through our Bucks for Bunks campaign, we are working to make sure each of those individuals gets a good nights sleep, but also allow us to continue camp for years to come.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed already! We are excited that we are going to be able to start upgrading our sleeping areas. Thank you to everyone who has yet to contribute, but will before the end of our campaign. Each and every one of you is helping to ensure a great summer for our campers!

Update from Camp!

May 14, 2019

Thank you all who have already generously donated to our Bucks for Bunks project!

Canter's Cave 4-H Camp is a year-round facility the serves youth primarily from across Southern Ohio but does reach a statewide audience. Why is camp important? As a 4-H Educator who serves on the board of directors for camp, I often say camp is where I see the largest growth in the young people I get to work with. I often hear this out of my colleagues as well. In four days at camp, youth step outside of their comfort zone, disconnect from technology, make new friends, try new things, connect with nature and so much more. They truly are making memories and skills that last a lifetime.

Each camp we offer at Canter's Cave 4-H Camp is tailor designed to the age and interest of the youth. Educators work with teens to train them as camp counselors who help with the planning and implementation of camp. These teens also grow tremendously as they work for months prior to camp to prepare. They are learning real workforce skills in organization, communication, time management, responsibility, self-direction, risk management, and the list could go on!

Why do I share this? Because by supporting our Buckeye Funder project, you are helping make camp possible for these youth. You are helping to provide them with a safe and comfortable environment where they can grow, learn and explore!

We greatly appreciate your support of our project, help us reach our goal through your own donation, every dollar helps, and by also spreading the word!

Thanks again!

Christy
