The Ohio State Men's Water Polo team is a student run organization that strives to compete at the highest level against teams all across the nation. We have 29 players from all around the world, some who have competed for 8+ years and others who are playing for their first time. Our team focuses on being as competitive as possible while still maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere for our players.
This year, the team decided to make a bold change; we switched conferences from the Great Lakes Division to the Big 10. This change means tougher competition against bigger schools and more traveling. We believe that the Big 10 conference will allow for our team to train better for a successful run at nationals. This year, the Big 10 Championship Tournament will be held in none other than Ann Arbor, hosted by TTUN. We will go head to head with rivals such as TTUN themselves, as well as Michigan St. in order to secure a spot at the National Collegiate Club Championship.
The money that this project supplies will help us with the following expenses:
Equipment such as balls, caps, and weight belts
Travel costs for regular season tournaments and for the National Collegiate Club Championship (should we qualify)
Hotel fees, airfare, and gas for driving
Pool time reservations for hosting tournaments at Ohio State
Tournament entry fees
Below is a list of our past achievements that would have been impossible without our supporters:
Great Lakes Conference Championships (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017)
National Collegiate Club Championships (2013 - 6th Place, 2014 - 5th Place, 2017 - 6th Place, 2018 - 7th Place)
Various Academic All-American Awards
All-American 2nd Team (Drew Wilson) 2018
All-American Honorable Mention (Alex Puthoff, Ryan Shepard) 2018
