The Student-Alumni Council Alumni Society Emerging Leaders Endowment fund supports several large-scale campus programs including traditions like Homecoming Pep Rally, Dinner for 12 Buckeyes, and Buck-I-Run. Through these programs, students are given opportunities to connect and network with other students and alumni while maintaining the spirit of our alma mater by building relationships between the past and present of Ohio State. These events require a great deal of long-term planning, budgeting, and communication to execute success. SAC leaders who run these events acquire and refine these abilities, ultimately developing invaluable personal and professional skills along the way.
Due to the ever-changing distribution of annual funding, some of these programs have suffered from decreased budgets, limiting our potential to reach and connect to as many members of the Ohio State community as possible. For example, the number of Dinners for 12 Buckeyes has reduced from five annual dinners to three. As a result, the reach to students and alumni has decreased by about 300 participants. This serves as one example out of many of our events that have struggled to grow without the necessary funds to procure supplies and involvement for their highest potential.
This endowment would not only empower leaders in SAC to take initiative and be creative within their programs to fuel growth, but also support our organization in advancing The Ohio State University through tradition, diversity, and involvement. Please consider making a gift to contribute to the programs and leaders of Student-Alumni Council as we celebrate 150 years of our alma mater!
