Through partnerships of Ohio State University Extension and organizations that offer aquatic education and water recreation, Ohio 4-H Sea Camp at Kelleys Island offers young people the opportunity to learn about aquatic science and experience a variety of recreational watersports on Lake Erie! Sea Camp is open to youth ages 15-17 (age as of July 11, first day of camp).
The mission of Ohio 4-H Sea Camp is to offer teenage youth an introduction to the Great Lakes through hands-on experiences in a variety of aquatic-based programs. Sea Camp enables participants to experience Lake Erie-based activities and culture such as aquatic science, water recreation and fishing. The program is a supervised, educational environment fostered by Ohio 4-H and The Ohio State University.
Objectives of Ohio 4-H Sea Camp include:
Because of the many activities and costs affiliated with this one-of-a-kind learning experience, grant funds and donations are relied upon in order to make Sea Camp a reality for youth across the state of Ohio. Donations will directly support camperships (camper scholarships) to lower the cost incurred to any individual registering for camp, as well as reduce the overall cost of Ohio 4-H Sea Camp operations.
2020 is the 75th summer of offering camps at Erie County 4-H Camp at Kelleys Island!
Celebrate 118 years of 4-H in Ohio (started in 1902) with a gift to support teens attending 4-H Sea Camp!
