Supporters of Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens:

Today marks the conclusion of our month-long Buckeye Funder campaign. With your generous donations, we surpassed our goal of $75,000!  During these challenging times, it took a community to come together in support of this vital organization.

These funds came at an incredibly important time. On July 11th, the Chadwick Arboretum will celebrate their 40th anniversary, but now with the hope of a bright future. Our mission of providing a place for education, research and respite is more important than ever, and we are ready to advance that mission in every step we take.

On behalf of Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens staff and volunteers, thank you so much for your contribution.

Although the fundraiser is over, we had one last impactful video we would like to share. Watch Anna Williamson, Tree Mapping Manager at Chadwick Arboretum and Ohio State student, explain how working for the arboretum has enhanced her time at the university

Week 3 of the Chadwick Arboretum Buckeye Funder

June 22, 2020

Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens has raised over $67,400 from 224 generous donors through our Buckeye Funder campaign. This is no small achievement. Every dollar makes a difference and will help the Chadwick Arboretum continue to work towards its mission and recover lost revenue.

This week, June 22- 28, is National Pollinator Week! Chadwick Arboretum is a member of the Xerces Society, who writes, “This week is a special time to pause, celebrate pollinators, and focus on what we can all do in our lives to help pollinators thrive in this changing world.”

Pollinators are essential to our environment and food security - more than two-thirds of the world’s crop species rely on pollinators! Even during these challenging times, the Chadwick Arboretum staff have been incorporating pollinator protection into our daily work. From maintenance practices, to plant selection, to volunteer opportunities, we are committed to a goal of providing, “The best example of an urban habitat that maximizes the populations of beneficial insects, butterflies, and birds.”

As we sprint towards the finish line of our campaign, we want to take a minute to say “Thank You” for helping the Chadwick Arboretum continue its vital work. We have reached 89% of our goal of $75,000 and with only 8 days left in our campaign, we still need your help. Please continue to share our campaign with your family and friends to help us achieve our fundraising goal. Thank you so much!

Protect the pollinators - and Keep Planting Forward, Friends!

Week 2 of the Chadwick Arboretum Buckeye Funder

June 12, 2020

Dear everyone,

Chadwick Arboretum has raised over $50,000 in the first two weeks of our crowdfunding campaign! To say the least, Chadwick Arboretum staff and volunteers are absolutely thrilled that we are very close to recouping the Plant Sale proceeds that were lost.

This past week, several organizations and clubs came together to amplify the Chadwick Arboretum story across the central Ohio region. The Worthington Garden Club, the Wednesday Literary Club, the Columbus Garden School, Ahlum and Arbor Tree Preservation, Russell Tree Experts, and others used their voices to rally in support of the arboretum because of what we offer to our community - a safe place for respite, a place to center and ponder, and unify.

Make plans to get outside this weekend! There are picnic tables and free parking in our Arboretum North site. Bring your fishing poles for catch and release fishing with your family or stroll along the mulched path for the perfect birding venue. All are welcome!

Our goal of $75,000 is within reach, and that is because of your support! Thank you for Planting Forward!

Week 1 of Chadwick Arboretum's BuckeyeFunder Update

June 05, 2020

Dear everyone,

Chadwick Arboretum’s fundraiser had been in the making for several weeks before we kicked-off on Monday, yet all the planning in the world could not have prepared us for the past week. In a time of deep unrest and anger across our nation and our city, we realized our fundraiser needed to take a backseat to the stories and voices of the Black Lives Matter protesters. Indeed, we stand with them.

Your generosity and unwavering support lifted our spirits. At this point today, we have raised $42,425 from about 85 donors. Many donated $40.00 or more to become members. Amid everything happening in the world, we know that our Arboretum is a critical place to uphold. It is a place of respite.

Since our team is out of the office and we do not have access to our membership materials, we will be sending temporary membership letters by email as soon as possible. You will be able to print this to prove your membership so you can take advantage of all our membership benefits - like 10% off at several local nurseries. You can see the full list of membership benefits here: go.osu.edu/chadwickarboretummemberbenefits

In addition to these, we are also pleased to announce a temporary membership benefit that will only last until June 15th through the Compost Exchange. Details on how to get 1-month of food scrap collection free (with a subscription) will come with your temporary membership letter. This unique partnership with a locally owned, environmentally sustainable business is hopefully one of many new benefits to come.

We are thrilled to see what the next three weeks bring! Thank you so much.

In gratitude,

The Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens
