Final Week to Vote

October 26, 2020

With only 4 days left to secure votes for their projects, our student organizations have raised nearly $2000 from 80 gifts. The Panhellenic Association continues to lead fundraising efforts, followed by Buckeyes for Harm Reduction and Engineers without Borders.

The Buckeye Impact Grant Challenge is an initiative led by the Student Philanthropy Council at the Ohio State University. The organization is dedicated to fostering a spirit of philanthropy on Ohio State's campus. We do this through educational programs that build understanding of philanthropy at Ohio State and beyond. We connect students with opportunities to support the causes they care most about. And we strive to instill gratitude in our peers for opportunities at Ohio State and beyond.

Whether you are a first-time donor, a current student, a parent, alumnus, or friend, we extend our sincerest gratitude for your participation in the expansion of philanthropic work in our Buckeye community.

During these final days of voting, we ask that you continue to advocate for the cause that you care most about, be it sustainability, diversity and inclusion, or health and safety. Thank you for supporting our students!

Week One Standings

October 20, 2020

Hello,

Thank you for supporting our student organizations in the Buckeye Impact Grant Challenge! My name is Devan Kowdley, and I serve as the President for the Student Philanthropy Council.  I am excited to share an update on how your votes have impacted five incredible community projects.

Currently, Ohio State's Panhellenic Association leads the competition! PHA will utilize funding to provide Columbus City Public Schools with children's literature that represents marginalized voices.

In second place, we have Buckeyes for Harm Reduction! Their mission is to increase awareness about the opioid epidemic and to empower students to confront the issue in our community.

Engineers without Borders is currently in third place. They are working to reduce the environmental impact of plastic bags by collecting them before they reach landfills and repurposing them so that they can provide value instead of polluting our environment.

These standings are not final! If you want to help your favorite project stay at the top or bring it up in the rankings, you can still vote at www.go.osu.edu/bigvote! Thank you to everyone who has already voted. You can continue to support our students by voting again and encouraging others to join you in championing these causes.

Scarlet and Grateful,

Devan Kowdley
