Dear Class of 1989, 

It’s heartwarming to witness the progress we’ve made since launching the Veterinary Medicine Class of 1989 Scholarship in 2021. Our collective efforts are already making a difference, and we are excited to share some updates with you.

Impact: Our class scholarship aims to support future Buckeye veterinarians by providing financial assistance. Once fully endowed, it will award scholarships to deserving DVM students enrolled in the College of Veterinary Medicine. Thanks to the generosity of several classmates, were able to begin scholarship distributions three years ago. This year's recipient is second year student, Laina Friedrichsen. Our Current Status: As of now, the principal balance of the scholarship fund has grown to nearly $82,750. This is a remarkable achievement!  Our goal is to reach a principal balance of $100,000 to fully endow the scholarship.

The Path Forward: We have two more years to meet our endowment goal. Every donation helps us in achieving this goal. By supporting the Class of 1989 Scholarship Fund, you’re directly impacting the lives of students in need. Your generosity leaves a lasting legacy within our beloved college.

Reunion: This year marks our class’s 35th reunion since graduating from the college. In addition to homecoming festivities in October, we invite you to participate in the college’s Reunion Challenge. The class with the highest percentage of classmates contributing to college funds will be crowned the champions. Your donation—no matter the size—plays a vital role in supporting our class. Together, we can make a difference and continue the tradition of excellence at Ohio State. More information about the challenge is on the back.   

Let’s aim higher! Currently, 30% of our class has contributed to the scholarship fund, and 66% have given back to the college. Can we raise that participation rate to 89%? Your donation of any amount will help us continue the tradition of excellence at Ohio State.
