As students who have had global experiences we know and recognize the growth that happens because of these trips. Not only are we experiencing global business outside of our U.S. borders, we've also come away a better understanding of how to navigate differences in language and more importantly culture. We actively tell our fellow students about our experiences and encourage them to participate in one (or more!) of Fisher's global programs -- whether that be a Global Lab, internship or student exchange program. One of the ways we know that more students would take advantage of these opportunities is be increasing the amount of available scholarships. Which is where we could use your help!
We are a group of students who are working together to raise awareness and funds for global student experiences through Fisher College of Business. Throughout the course of our crowdfunding campaign we hope that you gain a better sense of the importance of students seeking out these global experiences. And we hope you are inspired to give, providing additional funds so more of our fellow students are able to participate.
This number represents the percentage of our students who decline pursuing an international experience because of financial reasons. We get this. We're financing our 'traditional' studies and these costs are extra. But good news! We have an opportunity from the University when raising dollars for this campaign to have all gifts matched. DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR. Which means that your support is doubled. DOUBLED.
Currently, 20% of Fisher students will participate in a global business experience. What if we could double this number, too? With your support we will be able to increase scholarships to provide more necessary funding for our students to say YES!
Our goal for this campaign is to raise $5,000 from our community: families, friends, & fellow Fisher alumni. That amount would be matched by the University and amount to $10,000 added to the Global Leadership Initiative.
