The 2021 Ohio State ATI Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Team just completed a very successful judging season. The team placed second at World Dairy Expo in September, second at the North American International Livestock Exposition in November and third at the PA All American Dairy Show in September. As a result of the second-place finish at World Dairy Expo, the team has been invited to participate in the International Dairy Cattle Judging tour to Scotland and Ireland to judge at the Royal Highland Show in Scotland and the Clonmel Show in Ireland in late June and early July 2022. Megan Raudebaugh (Danville, OH), Rachel Sherman (Sunbury, OH), Rebecca Sprang (Big Prairie, OH) and Marissa Topp (New Bremen, OH) are the team members, accompanied by Coach Royce Thornton, planning to experience the international judging and agricultural tour.

The challenge to participate in the International Dairy Cattle Judging Tour is raising the remaining $12,000 of the $25,000 total necessary to make the trip to Europe. Your gift of any amount will help us and is greatly appreciated.

In addition to being a reward for an excellent judging season, the International Dairy Judging Tour will help us experience competition, agriculture, culture and history in Scotland and Ireland – preparing us for agriculture careers with a greater appreciation for the global world and becoming responsible global citizens. The tour itinerary includes visits to the Scottish Museum of Country Life; Royal Highland Show with competition and visits with Scottish Young Farmers in Edinburgh; Carnegie Exhibition, Old Course and other sights in St. Andrews; Scottish dairy farms with robots and Ayrshire cows; lots of castles and historic buildings; Trinity College, Christ Church Cathedral and other sights in Dublin; and the Ring of Fire. Irish agriculture visits include grazing dairy farms with Holsteins, Friesians, Jerseys, Kiwi crossbreds and water buffalo; a livestock auction/market and the Clonmel Agricultural Show.
