1998 started out strong in this competition with 7.8% participation and climbing to 71.9% in the final four and 65.6% in the final. Overall, 51 of their classmates participated in the competition at some point.
Also, we want to thank the Class of 2003 who had a great month of competition as well, finishing at 29.7%.

We’ve made it to the final 2 classes – 1998 and 2003. They have both worked hard to grow class participation throughout the challenge. Just one more reminder that you only have TODAY to make your gift and see which class will come out on top.
I want to also say THANK YOU to the Class of 2009 and the Class of 2012 for all they did to make it to the Final Four.

There are only three days to make a gift in this round – March 28-30. The the final two will only have March 31 to make their gifts with the winner announced on April 1.

I want to make a special shout-out to the Class of 1998 who had a 48.44% donor percentage in the Sweet 16. With their 25th reunion coming up this fall, they seem very serious about winning this competition.
As we get closer to the end of the month, each of these rounds get a little shorter. This one only runs from March 23-27. Five days to make your gift – just do it now!

Who will we see in the Final Four?
Today is the first day of Round 3, which will take place March 17-22. You have through Wednesday night only to make a gift if your class moved on from the last round. Remember that all the percentages reset to zero for each round.
There are a few classes that are crushing this tournament and a shout out to the Class of 1998 with 21 classmates participating so far. Who will move on to the Elite 8?
After the first two rounds, we’ve raised $2,535 for optometry scholarships.
Welcome to Round 2!
65 people participating in the first round and Class of 2003 had the highest percentage at 10.94%. So far we’ve raised $1,395 for student scholarships. Thank you for supporting the college and our students.
A couple things to note in this round:
If your class made it to Round 2, all the totals reset to zero and you’ll need to make another gift to stay in the game.
Round 2 is shorter than the first round – March 10-16.

It’s time again for Macular Madness! This is our second year for this new class giving challenge that supports student scholarships. Last year, we raised more than $12,000 from 279 donors. The Class of 2012 prevailed with nearly 60% of their class participating.
