The Buckeyes need your support as we travel to Alton, Illinois to play in the NCBA DII World Series. This double elimination tournament will feature 8 regional winners out of the 112 teams at the DII club level. The Buckeyes are the #1 seed and will play UW-La Crosse on Friday, May 19th at 7 PM CST. The event will be held at Lloyd Hopkins Field from May 19 through May 23.
We are in need of funds to help cover the weeklong hotel stay and fuel for player’s commute. Any donation amount will help as we look to cover a $4,000 budget deficit in travel expenses for the 6.5-hour trip just outside of St. Louis.
After an undefeated conference season at 10-0 and 22-1 overall record, the DII team won their 7th consecutive conference title advancing to the New Penn Regional Tournament. The team was flawless beating Cal PA, a rematch of last year’s championship game, in round 1, 8 to 2. In round 2, the Buckeyes fought off a late surge from Old Dominion winning 3 to 2. In the championship game versus West Virginia, after a 3-hour weather delay, the Buckeyes returned in a 1 to 1 game and quickly found themselves down 3 to 1 going into the bottom of the 6th inning.
However, always a resilient group, the team exploded for 3 runs in their half of the 6th and went into the final inning needing 3 outs to advance to the NCBA World Series. Drew Lane, who was the winning pitcher in game 1, finished off the Mountaineers, leading the DII squad to their 2nd ever World Series appearance and 5th overall in program history.
We sincerely appreciate any donation amount you can provide and your thoughtful generosity to the program.
Thank you and go Buckeyes!
