2023 Dean's Charity Steer Show Event Details:
Celebrate Ohio agriculture, communities and children at the 2023 Dean’s Charity Steer Show. Teams will consist of a Team Captain, Team Champion, experienced 4-H youth and a steer in the show ring. The event will be hosted by Cathann A. Kress, vice president and dean of The Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). All proceeds will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio. The Steer Show is coordinated by CFAES, Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, Telhio Credit Union and the Ohio State Fair.
Team Bios:
Delaney Chester is 16 years old and from Oregonia, Ohio in Warren County, and is the daughter of Emily and Troy Chester. Delany and her family own and operate Rockin’ C Show Cattle, raising and selling Hereford, Simmental and Maine-Anjou cattle. Delaney will be a junior at Clinton-Massie High School where she is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, and an officer in her FFA chapter. She also serves as the treasurer for the Ohio Buckeye Junior Hereford Association and is an active member in both the Hereford and Simmental breed associations. Delaney is a member of the Ultimate 4-H Club and will be showing her sidekick “Lloyd” in the Dean's Charity Steer Show.
Kristin Bernert is in her second season as President of Business Operations for the Columbus Crew after joining the club in January 2022. Bernert directs all business endeavors for the Crew, including fan engagement and marketing; community partnerships and impact; game experience and facility management; ticket sales and services; corporate partnerships and overall revenue generation; and organizational administration. She has decades of experience in leadership roles in the sports and entertainment industry, encompassing the MLS, NBA, WNBA, NHL, NWSL and more.
David Holmes is a sports reporter/anchor for 10TV. He attended Kent State University, became an anchor for ESPN at the young age of 21, then moved on to work for WTVG in Toledo for 8 years. Dave has won six Emmy awards and was honored eight times by the Associated Press as the best in Ohio.
