Fox Family2023 Dean's Charity Steer Show Event Details:
Celebrate Ohio agriculture, communities and children at the 2023 Dean’s Charity Steer Show. Teams will consist of a Team Captain, Team Champion, experienced 4-H youth and a steer in the show ring. The event will be hosted by Cathann A. Kress, vice president and dean of The Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). All proceeds will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio. The Steer Show is coordinated by CFAES, Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, Telhio Credit Union, and the Ohio State Fair.
Team Bios:
Russell Fox is the son of Mindy and Jason Fox of Tiffin, Ohio in Seneca County. He has three brothers and is 13 years old. Russell is headed to the eighth grade this fall at Tiffin Middle School. He is a member of the Builders Club, Student Council, Seneca County Jr. Beef 4-H Club, OCA BEST program, as well as the American Maine Anjou, Angus, Simmental, Chi and Shorthorn Associations. Russell is a 5th year 4-H exhibitor and his favorite projects are sheep and cattle. He will be showing his Simmental steer, “Mamba” in the Dean’s Charity Steer Show.
Michelle Warnky Buurma is a 10-time Ninja Warrior competitor, motivational speaker, personal trainer, entrepreneur, MLab Ohio gym owner and Obstacle Course Racer. Michelle has been blessed with an incredible husband, Joel Buurma, and a beautiful baby, Grace, who was born 3 months premature and weighed 1 lb 14 oz! Michelle and her husband stayed at the Ronald McDonald house in Columbus for 2 months while their daughter was in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) right after birth. Michelle loves God and people, and aims to live her life serving both with love! She runs competitions with a Bible verse written on her leg as a thank you to God for each chance to compete and be active! As an entrepreneur and leader, for the past 8 years Michelle founded and has co-owned the gym Movement Lab Ohio. MLab Ohio is a ninja warrior, parkour and fitness facility that has classes, parties and team building for all ages, as well as hosting competitions and supporting local school initiatives.
