2023 Dean's Charity Steer Show Event Details:
Celebrate Ohio agriculture, communities and children at the 2023 Dean’s Charity Steer Show. Teams will consist of a Team Captain, Team Champion, experienced 4-H youth and a steer in the show ring. The event will be hosted by Cathann A. Kress, vice president and dean of The Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). All proceeds will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio. The Steer Show is coordinated by CFAES, Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, Telhio Credit Union and the Ohio State Fair.
Team Bios:
Delaney Moore is the daughter of Braden and Amy Moore of Lancaster, Ohio in Fairfield County. She is 18 years old, has two siblings, and is a recent graduate of Bloom-Carroll High School and a member of the Awesome Animals 4-H Club. She was actively involved in the Bloom-Carroll FFA, Student Ambassadors, Studio BC Production Team, National Honor Society and the music department. Delaney is currently serving as the 2023-2024 Ohio FFA Vice-President. This fall she plans to attend The Ohio State University majoring in Agricultural Communications. In the Dean’s Charity Steer Show, Delaney will be showing her market heifer, “Tree Trunks”.
Dr. Melissa Shivers is the Senior Vice President for Student Life at The Ohio State University where she serves on the university’s senior administration team and provides leadership and strategic oversight on matters related to the student experience. She has broad leadership responsibility for numerous university operations affecting students outside the classroom.
Tracy Townsend is a journalist who is a News Anchor on “Wake Up CBUS,” the morning newscast at WBNS-TV. She also reports as Medical Correspondent and hosts “Face the State,” a political affairs show on WBNS-TV.
