This weekend, we had two teams travel to regattas, with six going to Laker Showdown and five going to Hoosier Legal Guardian. We were extremely successful at both regattas, finishing first overall at Hoosier Legal Guardian and second at Laker Showdown. We are extremely grateful for both IU and GVSU for hosting great regattas!
Furthermore, we wanted to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to, shared, or contributed in some way to our Buckeyefunder, as we have just hit our $5000 goal with two weeks remaining! We are beyond excited to be upgrading out fleet this summer, and we are endlessly thankful for all of you who have helped to make this possible.
As we move into the final stretch of our fundraiser, we want to set an ambitious stretch goal of $6500, an amount that would allow us to purchase three additional club drysuits to add to our current three, allowing more sailors to travel to regattas in the spring or late fall, such as Notre Dame Icebreaker and MCSA Fall Champs. As always, any amount helps, and we can't emphasize enough how thankful we are for all of the donations we've received to date.

This past weekend, we hosted our semi-annual home regatta, Buckeye Invite. We had 10 teams travel to sail with us and were able to get in 7 races on Saturday. Our sailors were extremely successful, and our two teams ended in first and third overall. Watch the video below to hear more about how we did!

4 of our first year sailors on the team, Emma Hershey, Emma Leidheiser, Dylan Jones, and Michael Mignogna headed over to Notre Dame this past weekend to sail in the Icebreaker Regatta. They did a great job and won 3rd overall! Watch the video below to hear from them about their experience.

We have been making great efforts to regrow our club after COVID, reaching a new high of 36 members last fall!
Sponsor a sailor! Last year we sent sailors to five dinghy regattas, with the average cost being $70 per sailor.
Sponsor a sailor! Last year we sent sailors to four offshore regattas, with the average cost being $153 per sailor.
In honor of our commodore's greatest inspiration, we sent sailors all over the country last year, traveling as far west as Sheboygan, Wisconsin and as far east as the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, totaling 2,773 miles.
Our dinghy of choice! We are raising funds to buy eight of them to upgrade our fleet.
