We are celebrating 75 years of HESA and the Student Personnel Assistantship (SPA) Program at THE Ohio State University. The SPA program was one of the first of its kind in this country, and since its inception, it has maintained a commitment to excellence and a proud tradition of preparing leaders for higher education and student affairs.
Of the many accolades we have garnered since 1948, the thing we are most proud of is our community. We have world-class faculty who develop crosscutting research, innovate in the classroom and serve as leaders within the field. We have standout alumni who transform scholarship and practice in education and beyond. And, of course, we have incredible students, who push us to be better and will be the next generation of changemakers in higher education. Our community is what has sustained us for 75 years, and our community is what we want to invest in for decades to come.
As we celebrate this milestone, we are still grappling with the repercussions of a global pandemic, steeling ourselves against societal and political challenges to higher education and striving to better support an increasingly diverse population of students. This work is not easy, but we are making strides, and we can use your help.
In honor of our 75th anniversary, we aim to raise $7,500 for the SPA Program Support Fund. Contributions to this fund will support the following areas:

We love to share our good work and research at national conferences. A gift at this level sponsors a student's membership in one of the Student Affairs professional associations (NASPA and ACPA).

Textbooks are expensive! With your help, we can achieve our dream of creating a HESA lending library for the required books of our core classes and curriculum.
Giving at this amount provides a $250 scholarship to help support the travel costs of a student who is presenting at a professional development conference.
