Senator John Glenn believed that students from the heart of the country should have the opportunity to gain experience in Washington.
Over 20 years ago, he established the Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP), which now welcomes over 50 undergraduate students annually to spend a transformative semester living, learning and interning in D.C.
Stemming from the success of WAIP and in an effort to further Sen. Glenn’s vision, the college established the MPA-DC program in 2018. Now, 33 students have earned their MPA with hands-on experience working in the nation’s capital. All degree recipients report early career success, landing impressive jobs in public service organizations within 6 months of graduation.
Thanks to the combination of personal, professional and academic development, WAIP and MPA-DC have become pipelines for buckeyes to start their public service careers in D.C. and around the country.
The #1 barrier for students to enroll in and complete these programs is the cost of living and housing in Washington. Every year, your support of this crowdfunding campaign raises funds to offset these prohibitive costs for deserving students.
We thank you for your generosity and commitment to Senator Glenn’s mission!
Your gift helps build a path for students from Ohio State to begin meaningful careers for the public good.
