Veterinary Medicine: Class of 1980

Help us leave a lasting legacy and support Buckeye veterinarians!

Support the next generation of Buckeye veterinarians

The College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 1980 Scholarship will be used to provide scholarships to DVM students who demonstrate financial need. As the cost of tuition continues to increase, our class scholarship will help bridge the gap. This fund will help students pay for their education so they can focus on being the best future veterinarian they can be.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this scholarship fund and for the impact we will make on students at the college. Check back here for updates!

Why Scholarships?

The College of Veterinary Medicine holds an ambitious goal of eliminating a year of tuition for every student, meaning it will be providing a total of $5.8M a year in scholarship dollars. This academic year, the college distributed $3.81M in philanthropic scholarship dollars. This number has increased significantly from $340,000 awarded ten years ago.

Scholarships have become important now more than ever as two of three Ohio State veterinary students graduate with over $200,000 in student loan debt. Many of the students end up paying back double what they borrowed, which could end up being around $400,000. Learn more about the cost of attendance here.
