The piccolo is the small flute, pitched an octave higher than the ordinary flute.
The modern flute was developed by Theobald Boehm in the mid 19th century. The flute however, is one of the oldest instruments, dating back to over 35,000 years ago.
The alto flute is the only flute in our Flute Troupe that is pitched in a different key, it's in G!
The bass flute is approximately 57 inches of tubing, shaped like the letter J.
Known as the gentle giant of flute ensembles, ours is named "Ziggy."
We estimate a cost of $550 for each student in the Flute Troupe to attend the convention, please consider giving full sponsorship to a student!
