The Dr. Lindsay Wilson Honoring the Bond Scholarship

Support the Dr. Lindsay Wilson Honoring the Bond Scholarship

In moments of profound loss, compassionate care can transform grief into grace. Few embody this truth more fully than Dr. Lindsay Wilson DVM ’11, a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and a respected small animal veterinarian at the SF SPCA. With a special focus on feline medicine and surgery, Dr. Wilson brings not only clinical expertise but also a rare depth of empathy to her work.

Her approach is holistic and heart-centered, combining advanced training in feline dentistry, low-stress handling, and Feline Friendly Veterinarian certification through Feline VMA. Beyond the exam room, Dr. Wilson is a Certified Honey Bee Veterinarian (CertHbV) and participant in the California Master Beekeeper Program, reminding us that “bees need vets, too.” She previously served as a mentor to the next generation of veterinary professionals, guiding students and veterinary technicians through programs at UC Davis, University of Arizona, University of Pennsylvania, Carrington, and VASE.

In 2022, Dr. Wilson’s extraordinary care helped Andrea (Andy) Coravos navigate the final chapter of life with her beloved cat, Casanova. Through her presence and compassion, Dr. Wilson transformed a painful farewell into a moment of peace and dignity—leaving a lasting impact that inspired action.

To honor Dr. Wilson’s profound care and ensure future veterinarians are equipped to offer the same grace and empathy, Andy established the Dr. Lindsay Wilson Honoring the Bond Scholarship at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. This scholarship celebrates Casanova’s legacy and uplifts the healing power of empathy in veterinary medicine—ensuring that Dr. Wilson’s influence continues to ripple outward for years to come.

If a veterinarian has ever touched your life, this is your chance to pay it forward. Make a gift in their honor and help support the next generation of caregivers who will walk alongside us in our most vulnerable moments. Every donation makes a difference. When you give, you're invited to share your story. These tributes illuminate the enduring bond between humans and animals and inspire future veterinarians to lead with heart.

About the Scholarship

This scholarship supports third- and fourth-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students who demonstrate:

A commitment to end-of-life care and honoring the human-animal bond

Special interest in feline medicine and companion animal care

Dr. Wilson’s use of tools like the Feline Grimace Scale and her alignment with OSU’s “Honoring the Bond” program have set a new standard for empathetic, evidence-based veterinary care. This scholarship aims to pass that legacy on to the next generation.

A Living Tribute

Unlike posthumous memorials, this scholarship is a living tribute. Dr. Wilson can actively shape its vision, engage with recipients, and witness the ripple effects of her impact.

Let’s help more stories end with dignity, compassion, and grace.
